A
hands-on Clubfoot Management seminar facilitated
by International experts from Uganda, The Netherlands
& Canada
5 International facilitators
will share their tried and tested experiences
to enable you to implement the Ponseti technique.
On completion, you will have the skills required
to set up your own Ponseti Clubfoot Care Clinic
and be part of the community of Ponseti users
in Southern and East Africa.
This year STEPS will host 2 separate
workshops to address the different components
of the Ponseti Technique (both workshops to run
concurrently):

PONSETI
THEORY AND CASTING TECHNIQUES AT JOHANNESBURG
HOSPITAL
This is of great benefit to orthopaedic
surgeons and casting technicians, specifically
those specialising in paediatrics.
The programme consists of presentations by
a top international faculty and practical
hands-on workshops. Delegates will practice
techniques extensively on models as well as
watch demonstrations on patients. We will
also work towards a consensus plan for clubfoot
management in Southern Africa.

PUBLIC HEALTH HOSPITAL WORKSHOPS ONLY)
This hands-on workshop is
of great benefit to orthotists and
orthopaedic technicians / shoemakers
in public health hospital workshops.
Run over 2 days, each delegate will
make the Foot Abduction Brace that plays
a major part in the Ponseti Technique.
Limited space is available, selection
process by application only. Delegates
will be selected on merit and written
motivation. Closing date 25 October
