We love hearing your clubfoot success stories – like this one from Wendy and her son, Isaac. Isaac was born with bilateral clubfoot, for which he received treatment at the Edendale Clinic, in August. The treatment was a big success and by receiving the correct bracing, he is now more than capable of doing anything any other 2 years old gets up! Do you have your own clubfoot story you would like to share? Please do so here.
When did you find out that your baby had/would have clubfoot?
We only found out our baby had clubfoot when he was born. The doctors were the ones who informed us.
How did you feel?
I felt bad straight away, but the doctors reassured me that this can be treated.
What was the correction process like for you and your family?
The process was surprisingly easy and there were no complications. My family was also really supportive, which helped a lot.
How did you find out about Steps?
I found out at uMtata Hospital, the staff there informed me about clubfoot and told me about Steps.
How did Steps assist you on your journey?
They made my journey easy, as everything went well to plan and I was informed about all the procedures.
What advice would you offer to other families going through similar journeys?
I would advise them to reach out to Steps as you can trust them; today my child is 99% corrected and I have Steps to thank.
