STEPS spread festive cheer at five of our South African partner Ponseti clubfoot clinics in December.
We had fun Ponseti Parties at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, George Mukhari Hospital, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Tygerberg Hospital, and Maitland Cottage Hospital.
We partied with the amazing staff, listened to moving testimonies by mothers who had travelled far to share their success stories of hope, and kids enjoyed their party packs and running in Ponseti Races.
We are so appreciative of our wonderful clinic partners, the work they do to change lives, and most especially the happy families and our guests of honour, the Ponseti kids.
We look forward to another successful year of supporting the babies born with clubfoot in Southern Africa. Report from Ivy, our Gauteng clinic coordinator:
STEPS hosted a Ponseti party at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital on 9 December. It was a fun event with lots of treats for young and old. The patients were spoilt with party packs and each received a lovely gift from a donor of the hospital.
The party was also a lovely way to show our appreciation to the hardworking staff who help make the clubfoot clinic a success. The patients and their parents enjoyed chatting and sharing their experiences and our nurses and doctors enjoyed a well- deserved break in their busy days.
It was lovely to have some of our older patients attend, whom we have walked the road with from the start of their treatment, and to see how they run around on their perfect little feet. We look forward to another successful year in 2016.
